What Do We See? Plastic Kills

WATCH in HD.

Share widely. Please.

This is a little horror film I edited up about… Plastic in the Oceans.

All filming rights go to the (original, and) many brilliant filmmakers who have courageously tackled this issue worldwide.

Please: take responsibility for your consumption of plastic. Teach everyone, the facts about our oceans, dying, being smothered in plastic / plastic pellets. We are all in this mess together. If the ocean dies, so do we; and all living creatures in the ocean.

Please SHARE SHARE SHARE…to all your email lists; and social media — make this little film go viral – advertise all these filmmakers hard work!  Do this for the future of all your loved ones. xx jcd.

FACTS
http://thegreendivas.com/2014/04/04/21-preposterous-facts-plastic-pollution/

50 percent of the plastic we use, we use just once and throw it away.

Enough plastic is thrown away each year to circle the earth four times.

Plastic in the ocean breaks down into such small segments that pieces of plastic from a one liter bottle could end up on every mile of beach throughout the world.

Annually approximately 500 billion plastic bags are used worldwide. More than one million bags are used every minute.

It takes 500-1,000 years for plastic to degrade.

One million sea birds and 100,000 marine mammals are killed annually from plastic in our oceans.

  1. Hi Jaya, great film and a very important message. I have not commented on it publically as I feel like a hypocrite if I do. I look around me and I see lots of plastic. Lots of the kids toys, lunch boxes, keyboard screen of my computer etc. Even my paint is probably plastic. Im having a struggle with the idea of my paint being plastic, as I love it as a medium and you cant get those vibrant and permanent colours with natural pigments – so I have a conflict of interest. It sux.

Hope you are well, love and hugs to you. XO

    1. Danielle, you are not alone. We are ALL in this mess together. But what each of us can do, is limit our plastic choices, as best we can, and be very careful of how we dispose of this waste product from oil dependency. Our oceans are in big trouble now… 5 gyres collecting millions of tonnes a year….. killing so much life. Plastic, Fukishima radiation, oil spills, the dumping of chemicals… our earth is a living organism. We MUST all raise awareness of what is happening, worldwide. Just do the best you can – and you of all people are doing so much good with all your artworks – teach your children the plastic problem. xxx jcd.
