ESL Private Tutor – Terms, Cancellation & Refund Policy
- Booking & Payment
All lessons, lesson packages, and courses must be paid in full prior to commencement unless otherwise agreed in writing.
Payments may be made via bank transfer, Afterpayor other approved payment methods.
A confirmed booking secures your lesson time and reserves dedicated preparation time for your learning program.
- Lesson Packages & Courses
Students may purchase:
- Single private lessons
- 5-lesson packages
- 10-lesson packages
- Short ESL courses or customised learning programs
Package lessons are designed to provide continuity, structure, and measurable language progress.
All packages and courses must be used within the agreed timeframe:
- 5-lesson package: valid for 2 months from purchase date
- 10-lesson package: valid for 4 months from purchase date
- Courses: valid within the scheduled course period
Unused lessons after expiry may be forfeited unless otherwise agreed.
- Cancellation & Rescheduling Policy
A minimum of 48 hours’ notice is preferred for any cancellation or rescheduling request.
With 48+ Hours’ Notice
Lessons may be rescheduled at no additional charge, subject to availability.
Less Than 48 Hours’ Notice
Lessons cancelled with less than 48 hours’ notice may be charged in full and are generally not eligible for rescheduling or credit.
No-Shows
Failure to attend a scheduled lesson without notice will result in the lesson being forfeited in full.
The tutor will wait up to 15 minutes for a student to join an online lesson before the session is considered a no-show.
- Refund Policy
Single Lessons
Refunds for single lessons may be considered only if cancellation occurs more than 48 hours before the scheduled lesson.
Lesson Packages & Courses
Once payment has been made for:
- a 5-lesson package,
- a 10-lesson package,
- or any ESL course/program,
these purchases are considered final and non-refundable.
Refunds are not provided for:
- change of mind,
- personal scheduling conflicts,
- relocation,
- lack of attendance,
- partial package use,
- or unused lessons remaining in a package.
By purchasing a package or course, the student acknowledges and accepts these terms.
- Tutor Cancellations
If the tutor must cancel a lesson due to illness, emergency, or unforeseen circumstances, the lesson will be rescheduled at no cost to the student or credited appropriately.
- Technical Issues
Students are responsible for ensuring they have:
- a stable internet connection,
- functioning audio/video equipment,
- and access to Zoom or the agreed lesson platform.
Technical issues on the student’s side do not automatically qualify for refunds or replacement lessons.
- Respectful Conduct
A respectful and professional learning environment is expected at all times.
The tutor reserves the right to discontinue lessons or terminate services where behaviour is inappropriate, abusive, discriminatory, or repeatedly disruptive.
In such cases, refunds will not be provided.
- Acceptance of Terms
By booking lessons or purchasing a lesson package/course, the student confirms they have read, understood, and agreed to this policy.
